Support

The establishment of Caban here in Brynrefail, has been the result of a complex, yet effective, partnership of individuals, community groups, businesses and agencies.

Key amongst these partners are our funding organisations.

We are, of course, totally indebted to our funders. Without their financial help and support, there would be no project.

We have received support from:

WEFO (Welsh European Funding Office)

Our major funder through the Objective 1 programme for West Wales and the Valleys. Representatives of WEFO have been proactive and extremely helpful.

Gwynedd Council

Gwynedd County Council administers of the Local Regeneration Fund which provided a vital part of the match funding for our Objective 1 bid.

Gwynedd Councty Council is also our landlord and work hard in may ways to help us ensure the sustainability of Caban Cyf, its aims and objectives.

Wales Co-operative Centre

As a co-operative company, Caban has worked closely with representatives of the Wales co-op Centre, who have provided us with invaluable advice and support during the our formative years.

Welsh Development Agency

The WDA provided vital funding to produce our first full management plan which was used to facilitate our initial funding application.

Cymad

Many years ago, Cymad provided finance and support in producing our first feasibility study document.

Charlotte Bellis is the only member of staff here to have staged an art exhibition. Her paintings and unique porcelain chimes were a great success.  Her paintings have now moved on, but her porcelain chimes still adourn our cafe.
