Caban Café – A creative space at the heart of the community
Caffi Caban – Gofod creadigol yng nghanol y gymuned

Daytime licensed Café serving a fantastic menu 7 days a week 9am-4pm

Our mission at Caban is to provide a dynamic hub in the heart of our community, working with partners to improve the quality of life for all. We place real emphasis on working with trusted, local suppliers. We choose ethically sourced, locally roasted coffee and are proud to work with our local traditional family butcher in Caernarfon. We are really lucky to have a kitchen garden that contributes fruit, herbs, tomatoes, garlic and greens, enabling us to create vibrant and seasonal food with a true local flavour.

Breakfast rolls are served from 9am-11:30am
Blackboard lunch from 12:00-3:30pm
Coffee, teas & cake, cold drinks all day until 4pm

Here’s how it works – and some of the things we’re doing to keep everyone safe:

Please follow the one way system to the new cafe entrance. Please wear your mask when entering the building and if you need to leave your table. You will be met by a member of the team who will take you to your table. We are not taking bookings. Tables will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

The maximum group size for each table is now six.

Following the latest announcmnets by Welsh Government we are required to collect and retain (for 21 days) the follwoing information:

  1. The names of customers or visitors, or if it is a group of people, the name of one member of the group – the ‘lead member’.
  2. A contact telephone number for each customer or visitor, or for the lead member of a group of people.
  3. Date of visit and arrival and departure time.

We also have a site specific NHS Test and Trace QR code for use with the NHS COVID-19 App.

We are operating end-to-end table service and will take your order at the table, serve food and drinks and take card payment at the table. Don’t be shy about catching our attention if there is anything you need.

Famous for our daily specials blackboard we are embracing this and will be chalking up fresh, local and delicious dishes each day. Our daily Virtual Blackboard will be online from 10.00am each day.

Our streamlined menu caters for a range of dietary requirements. We have a simple pasta dish for small children. We won’t be able to offer alternative dishes to those on the menu.

To reduce touch-points during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are longer be accepting cash. Payment will be taken at the table by card or contactless payment only.

Whilst we don’t allow dogs inside the cafe, well behaved owners and their dogs are very welcome in our outside spaces and there is usually a bowl of water too.

Caban Café serves a fantastic and varied menu 7 days a week. Our chef creates vibrant daily specials based on seasonal produce, combining the best from our trusted local suppliers and our on-site kitchen garden. This dedication to freshly prepared, healthy food, has resulted in an enviable reputation amongst locals and visitors alike.

“We popped in for lunch and had a really excellent meal. Everything freshly cooked, generous portions and everything we ordered was delicious. Plenty of choice for the vegans among us too. Excellent cakes with coffee as dessert. Service was with a smile and extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Can highly recommend!”

  • All guests are asked to respect 2 metre social distancing measures and to be respectful of the safety concerns of others.
  • We are operating a one way system in the building and grounds.
  • Toilet facilities are available and are being checked and cleaned regularly during service.
  • Staff numbers in the kitchen have been greatly reduced to allow for safe distancing.
  • Front of house staff will be wearing masks.

Our crusty breakfast rolls…

Why not pop in and try our crusty breakfast rolls? Served daily from 9:00am – 11:30am

Choose from; two, four or six fillings to build the breakfast stack of your dreams!

We take a real pride in our coffee. We only grind locally roasted coffee beans and carefully extract espresso for our great range of coffees. Poblado Coffi supplies our house blend espresso but we like to mix it up with guest coffees from the likes of Llandudno based Heartland coffee roasters. Always freshly ground for the best possible flavour.

We have a rolling exhibition celebrating the creativity and diversity of local artists. We provide the space where they can exhibit and sell, their work in an informal setting, whether its ceramics, photography, embroidery or painting.

We always have a good selection of loose leaf tea’s & wide range of soft drinks from the bar. Our little cafe shop always has something interesting to take away, whether its our Caban Garden apple juice, a jar of honey from our own bees, quirky snacks and drinks or some fresh, locally roasted coffee for you to take home.

Daily Specials

Famous for our daily specials blackboard we are embracing this and will be chalking up fresh, local and delicious dishes each day. Our daily Virtual Blackboard will be online from 10.00am each day.

We have a small but active allotment community at Caban where allotment holders work hard producing a range of fruit, veg and flowers. They also reap the physical and mental benefits of working an allotment and get to take home the fresh, delicious food.

As well as the dedicated orchard, we have numerous apple trees dotted around the site. Their glorious blossom each spring is a magnet for the bees, happy bees, happy apple trees! Each autumn we harvest the apples, press and bottle the juice for our very own Caban Garden Apple Juice. Served by the glass in the cafe and available for sale in the shop.

Nestled up in the orchard is our small apiary, which thanks to our volunteer beekeepers, has an active colony of honey bees, producing our very own Caban Garden Honey. Keep your eye out for jars of honey in the shop from late summer onwards.

Tended by our kitchen garden volunteers, the polytunnel provides year round growing space and is an important nursery for getting the kitchen garden going again each spring. Whether it is herbs, tomatoes, garlic or greens we try and bring in produce form the kitchen garden year round.

Conference Room

We have a dedicated meeting / conference room available for hire at Caban. The room is available for half day or full day use and is suitable for up to 12 people boardroom style, or twenty people theatre style.

We always aim to provide a friendly and efficient service to enable your meetings to run smoothly and productively. We will make every effort to accommodate any special requirements or requests that you may have. Caban’s popular cafe can cater for your requirements with buffet menus available to eat in the conference room or you can reserve a table in the cafe.

Tea, coffee, and cold drinks can always be provided.

Please contact us on 01286 685500 or email with your requirements and we will be happy to provide a quotation.
